You’d have to check with HEP on that one. I’m sure they could build you one. It does run rough on cold starts, but it’s alright after the car is warmed up. Other than that, nothing crazy. Thanks!!!!

It’s a modified FSI manifold. Took a bit to make it fit.

So, after 5 1/2 months, my car is still not running properly. I guess it’s safe to say that I’m losing hope, and patience. We are still running into trouble with the head. This is why there haven’t been as many updates on here. Before I go on a mad rant, I will give it just a few more days. Let’s see what happens..

It depends who is installing it…it will probably take a shop close to a day to do it, maybe a little longer. It all depends on experience and tools on hand.

It’s hard to say, but your best bang for the buck would probably be a tune or re-flash, from someone like APR or similar company. And then maybe an intake and downpipe. It really depends what you’re looking for, whether it’s going a little faster, or maybe a little better handling. Tune, intake and exhaust would probably be your best bet to start off with. That will definitely give you a noticeable difference, and still let you have some fun!

Where are we at now? The car has been apart for quite a while. If anyone has followed the threads on the forum, you’ll know what’s going on. Long story short, we were having some trouble with the valvetrain. A new revised TSI Valve kit was sent from Ferrea, and a new head ordered from VW. The current head should be coming off the car, with the new one going on. Hopefully everything will be done this week, and the car will be good for real this time! I am keeping my fingers crossed, and hoping for the best!

Text 19 Jul Happy 1 Year to the “Project Madonna” build

Today marks 1 year since I started this blog for Project Madonna. It was basically the beginning of the build. I’ve owned the car for a little longer than that, and it’s been under the knife even since. So, what better way to celebrate this 1 year of building it than to have it apart and not running? (sarcasm and irony intended) I am going to miss Waterfest, which is a bummer, but hopefully she will be up and running soon again!

For the tail lights, I would contact USP. They can certainly source them for you. If not, there are a few other companies online that may be able to, including ECS and UroTuning. And lastly, the VW dealer. As for stage 2 w/ downpipe, it’s certainly a noticeable difference from stock. If you’re looking for just a little extra power for you daily, then go for it! If you plan on going bigger than that, I would just wait. As for pricing, they are all going to be very similarly priced. I personally have had a good experience with APR, and they have been fairly helpful. I have heard a lot of good things about the Unitronic and GIAC tune, too.

Thanks a bunch buddy! I appreciate it. USP can certainly take care of that for you! I actually downgraded my brakes from GLI rotors and calipers, to GOLF rotors and carriers, and GLI calipers. I had to downsize the rotors to fit my 15” wheels and race slicks for the track.
