Change of plans..doing a cage instead of harness bar. Will update soon with more progress.
Interior almost all out. Time to build in a harness bar and get everything back together..Should start on it this week hopefully.
Just a much needed wash after the track. The wagon on the left is the daily driver..
Anonymous said: I have a 2014 GLI gen3. Ive done some work to it....APR stage 1 flash, APR stage 1 carbonio intake( stage 2 MAF pipe hasn't come out for the gen3 motors yet), USP motorsports catless downpipe, AWE track edition catback exhaust, Neuspeed Hi-flo turbo outlet pipe, H&R sport cup kit, and exterior work. I love what you did with your GLI! awesome! Since I have the gen3, k04 turbo won't fit in my car so im waiting patiently for some more mods to come out for my car. What turbo do you have I the car?
There should be parts out for it soon enough. The gen3 is a bit different, which sucks because you can’t just fit the older gen k04 kit on their like you mentioned. I’m running a PTE5858.
Anonymous said: beast ass car bro! I have a 2011 jetta se 2.5L and thinking about adding some more Horsepower to it. What should i do first and do you know of any websites i can get started on?
Try giving USP Motorsports a call or Blue Water Performance. BWP has done tons of work on 2.5’s, including some of the highest hp ones around..
I know it’s been a while since I’ve updated here. But after a good while of getting the car together and properly running, it’s finally perfect. This is pretty much a year after I last set the 10.99 1/4 mile record. So yes, it’s been a whole year since I’ve been to the track. Got a new clutch in, and so far I’m loving it. The car still has more in it, but the extremely humid and hot weather didn’t help much, along with a couple misfires. I was able to get two good runs in. A solid 11.04, and then the 10.81. Hopefully I’ll be back soon for more!
Anonymous said: So do you have a mod list availible?
It’s too much to list. If you go through the build, you’ll be able to see most of it though.
Anonymous said: I just asked about reliability. My other question I should ask/thing to mention. I'm more interested in the DSG auto at this point than the manual. Are there many issues with that transmission? Would I be a lot safer opting for the manual? Thanks.
I guess it depends what your plans are for the car. DSG is a great transmission, and can handle a good amount of power. It really comes down to what your goals are for the car..I personally prefer a manual.
Anonymous said: Hi there, congratulations for the project ! Its amazing what you could realize with this engine. Could you tell us what HPFP you are using?
oem hpfp modified by usp
Anonymous said: When is the HEP intake going to be released for the tsi???Also how much different does the car act without the intake flappers like the oem version,i mean is it harder to start on cold days or anything different,i mean besides being a real intake manifold. Also just wanted to say love the build!!
You’d have to check with HEP on that one. I’m sure they could build you one. It does run rough on cold starts, but it’s alright after the car is warmed up. Other than that, nothing crazy. Thanks!!!!
